Seocho-gu Passport Service Office Established as a 'Green Healing Office'
Excellent Indoor Air Quality Improvement Effects with Various Plant Arrangements Creating a Comfortable Civil Complaint Environment... Periodic Inspection and Maintenance of Indoor Environment and Plant Conditions Using ICT Sensors
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seocho-gu (Mayor Jo Eun-hee) has transformed the Seocho-gu Office Passport Civil Service Center, used by 200,000 people annually, into a 'Green Healing Office.'
The 'Green Healing Office' is a project announced by the Seoul Agricultural Technology Center in 2020, which arranges plants with excellent air quality improvement effects such as Abies, Spathiphyllum, Scindapsus, and Table Palm in various forms like bio-walls according to the characteristics of indoor spaces to create a pleasant civil service environment.
Using ICT sensors installed inside the office, fine dust concentration (PM2.5) is measured, and the maintenance and management of the plants are conducted regularly.
Additionally, stress indices (measured by pulse wave meter), happiness scales, and satisfaction surveys are conducted for employees to analyze the effects.
Through the creation of the 'Green Healing Office,' not only is air quality improved, but appropriate humidity is maintained, making the civil service environment more comfortable. The increased presence of green plants also visually soothes, which is expected to reduce stress for both visitors and employees.
Furthermore, to strengthen the COVID-19 quarantine system, the district installed an 'Air Shower Gate' at the entrance of the Passport Civil Service Center. Body temperature is measured upon entry, and the air shower removes dust and viruses from the entire body. This facility, used in negative pressure wards and semiconductor factories, is introduced to make the Passport Civil Service Center, where human contact is frequent, a safer place.
