Prime Minister Chung: "General Baek Seon-yeop to be honored with a military funeral at Daejeon National Cemetery"
[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun stated on the 12th regarding the burial of the late General Baek Seon-yeop, "The government plans to honor him with an Army funeral and lay him to rest at Daejeon National Cemetery."
At around 4:45 PM that day, Prime Minister Chung visited General Baek's funeral hall set up at Seoul Asan Medical Center in Songpa-gu, Seoul, and paid his respects for about 15 minutes. Afterwards, he told reporters, "The late general made great contributions during the Korean War," and explained, "We plan to honor him with an Army funeral and lay him to rest at Daejeon National Cemetery."
When asked about opinions suggesting that the late general should be buried at Seoul National Cemetery, Prime Minister Chung left the funeral hall silently without comment.
