Weekend Evening Online Enjoyment of Gangnam-gu 'Saxophone Healing Performance'
‘Choi Kwangcheol Music Research Institute’ Invitation... Live Broadcast on Gangnam-gu Office YouTube Channel at 7:30 PM on the 11th
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jeong Soon-gyun) will live stream the "Ontact Saxophone Healing Performance" at 7:30 PM on the 11th through the Gangnam-gu Office YouTube channel to comfort residents exhausted by COVID-19.
This stage was held at the Gangnam Healing Center, which opened on the 7th, featuring a performance by the "Choi Kwang-cheol Music Institute" led by saxophonist Choi Kwang-cheol, who captivated then U.S. President Bill Clinton with an impromptu performance without prior consultation at a Blue House dinner in 1998.
The performance includes familiar songs such as "Jindo Arirang," "Dokdo Is Our Land," and "Sangnok-su," as well as classical pieces with jazz elements like "Summertime" and "Dying Young." After the live broadcast, it can be rewatched through the district office's SNS channels such as blogs and Facebook, as well as IPTV, satellite broadcasting, and cable broadcasting including "Consumer TV."
Since May, Gangnam-gu has been presenting healing performances every Saturday evening that residents can enjoy online from home, including Korean traditional music concerts, Gangnam Symphony woodwind ensemble, and Gangnam Happiness Concerts.
