[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Ahn Cheol-soo, leader of the People’s Party, announced on the 11th that he would not pay respects to the late Park Won-soon, Mayor of Seoul.
On the same day, Ahn said on Facebook, “I cannot help but feel very saddened by the deceased’s death, but I have decided not to pay separate respects.”
Ahn stated, “This incident is a tragic and unfortunate event that must never happen,” and added, “I cannot agree to holding a five-day funeral as a Seoul Metropolitan City official funeral when it is not a work-related death.”
