Continuous Increase in Overseas Imported COVID-19 Cases in Jeonbuk Region
Among a total of 35 confirmed cases, 19 involved overseas visits or entries
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hong Jae-hee] The number of COVID-19 cases imported from overseas continues to increase in the Jeonbuk region.
According to Jeonbuk health authorities on the 11th, two soldiers in their 20s from the Gunsan US military base who arrived from the United States tested positive for COVID-19, being classified as the 34th and 35th patients in the province.
They were asymptomatic upon arrival and were diagnosed positive at the Gunsan US military base the previous day before being transferred to Osan US Air Force Hospital.
Since the beginning of this month, a total of seven confirmed cases have been reported in the Jeonbuk region, including four soldiers from the Gunsan US military base, two from Kazakhstan, and one who arrived from Mexico.
As a result, since the first COVID-19 patient in the province who visited Wuhan, China in January, 19 confirmed cases have been either visitors to or arrivals from overseas.
