Busan Gijang-gun, Caring for the Elderly
Intensive Application Period for Customized Elderly Care Services Until July 31
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Busan Gijang-gun is accepting applications for the customized elderly care service until the 31st of this month.
The customized elderly care service, implemented since January, provides services such as safety support, social participation, life education, and daily living assistance. Currently, 696 people in Gijang-gun are using services provided by two executing agencies.
Since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), the use of elderly leisure facilities such as senior welfare centers and senior citizen centers has been restricted, deepening social isolation and loneliness among the elderly. Therefore, the target group will be actively identified to minimize blind spots in care and expand the service coverage.
Eligibility for application includes those aged 65 or older who are recipients of the National Basic Livelihood Security, lower-income brackets, or basic pension recipients. Any elderly person who has difficulty maintaining daily life, including those living alone, elderly couples, and grandparent-headed households, can apply. If the target selection survey determines that independent daily living is difficult, the applicant can receive the service.
Applications can be made by visiting each eup/myeon administrative welfare center with an ID card. If a direct visit is difficult, applications can also be submitted via phone, mail, or fax.
