A total of 4,000 Mental Health Kits to be Produced and Distributed to Local Residents... Kits Comprise Mental Health Workbooks and Items to Promote Psychological Well-being
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gangbuk-gu (Mayor Park Gyeom-su) is promoting a mental health project in a non-face-to-face manner to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
This project was prepared to alleviate the emotional anxiety of residents caused by COVID-19 and other factors. The district plans to distribute a "Mental Health Kit" consisting of a mental health workbook and items that help improve psychological health.
A total of 4,000 kits will be produced for registered members of the Gangbuk-gu Mental Health Welfare Center, children and adolescents, and local residents experiencing psychological difficulties among the general public. The mental health workbook, colored pencils, and mental health leaflets will be commonly provided, while a medication calendar will be given to registered center members, and a gardening set will be provided to children, adolescents, and the general public.
The mental health workbook includes coloring designs for emotional regulation common to all groups, with different content tailored for registered center members, children and adolescents, and the general public. ▲For registered center members, it contains symptom management and medication management methods ▲For children and adolescents, symptoms and coping methods during infectious disease outbreaks and disasters ▲For the general public, separate guidance on emotional regulation methods such as deep breathing and muscle relaxation, as well as daily life management methods, are provided.
The district plans to distribute the kits starting from the end of July.
A district official expects this project to contribute to stress relief and mental illness prevention among residents in the area and to raise awareness about mental health.
