According to the Jeonnam Fire Headquarters on the 10th, the fire occurred at around 3:42 a.m. at Yunho21 Hospital in Namgye-ri, Goheung-eup.
The fire caused 2 deaths and 28 injuries of varying severity.
It is reported that a hospital staff member saw smoke and flames on the first floor and called 119.
The fire authorities arrived at the scene within 7 minutes of the report, issued Response Level 1, and completely extinguished the fire by 6:01 a.m.
About 290 personnel including firefighters, police, and Korea Electric Power Corporation, along with about 50 pieces of equipment such as pump trucks, were mobilized for the extinguishing efforts.
The hospital, which has 138 beds, reportedly had a total of 76 people present at the time, including 69 patients (excluding 21 who were out) and 7 staff members.
