[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] On the morning of the 9th at 10 a.m., Noh Hyun-song, Mayor of Gangseo-gu, Seoul, held a 'Policy Meeting to Eradicate Gapjil' with the Gangseo-gu Chamber of Commerce in the large conference room of the district office to discuss measures to eliminate gapjil in the private sector.
The meeting was held with a minimal number of attendees, including Kim Byung-hee, Chairman of the Gangseo-gu Chamber of Commerce, chamber executives, and the district office's audit officer. It proceeded in the order of delivering a letter and policy consultations to eradicate gapjil in the private sector.
Mayor Noh Hyun-song stated, "It is very regrettable that excessive gapjil in the private sector, such as conflicts between residents and security guards and customers' gapjil toward employees, which should never happen, is occurring. Acts that abuse superior status and authority must be eradicated."
He also delivered a letter containing five practical measures, including 'We prioritize the dignity and value of people,' aimed at creating a happy workplace to Chairman Kim Byung-hee of the Gangseo-gu Chamber of Commerce to eradicate gapjil and workplace harassment in the private sector.
