SH Corporation to Build 12-Story 'Insae Smart Anchor' Facility in Jung-gu
[Asia Economy Reporter Onyu Lim] Seoul Housing and Communities Corporation (SH Corporation) is constructing a ‘Printing Smart Anchor Facility’ with 5 basement floors and 12 above-ground floors in Jung-gu, Seoul.
SH Corporation announced on the 9th that it will build a Printing Smart Anchor Facility with a total floor area of approximately 11,195.04㎡, spanning from 5 basement floors to 12 above-ground floors, at 85-5 Mareunnae-ro, opposite the Jung-gu Office. This facility will integrate the ‘planning-production-distribution’ stages in one place.
As an implementing agency for Seoul city policies, SH Corporation, recognized for its extensive experience in entrusted development and its capabilities as an urban regeneration specialist, was finally selected as the negotiation target for the Printing Smart Anchor construction project by Jung-gu on the 24th of last month. The total project cost for this Printing Smart Anchor Facility, including land costs, is approximately 32.4 billion KRW, with completion and operation scheduled for 2023.
Once the contract is finalized following approval from the Jung-gu Council, SH Corporation plans to commence full-scale construction of the Printing Smart Anchor Facility, which will include △ research and development (R&D) facilities △ prototype production rooms △ spaces for printing companies to move in △ shared equipment rooms △ parking lots, among others. After completion, SH Corporation will collaborate with Jung-gu Office to support small business tenants and manage the facility.

Kim Seyong, President of SH Corporation, stated, “The Printing Smart Anchor is the third smart anchor project following Jungnang (fashion sewing) and Mapo (publishing and printing). Especially, through linkage with the Seoul Makers Park (SMP) project and the Sewoon Redevelopment Project planned around the Jung-gu Office area, we will take the lead in creating a foundation for youth employment by establishing startup clusters and industrial hub facilities.”
