Hankook Tire Supplies OET for Porsche Taycan
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Hankook Tire & Technology (hereinafter Hankook Tire) will supply the ultra-high-performance tires for electric vehicles, ‘Ventus Premium Sport,’ as original equipment tires (OET) for Porsche’s first electric sports car model, the ‘Taycan.’
The ‘Ventus S1 evo3 ev’ supplied this time is an ultra-high-performance tire for electric vehicles tailored to the characteristics of high-performance electric sports cars. It delivers powerful driving performance while minimizing weight, noise, and rolling resistance. In particular, it features a tread pattern designed to minimize road noise, suited to the electric vehicle’s characteristic of having no engine sound.
Hankook Tire first partnered with Porsche by supplying original equipment tires for the crossover sport utility vehicle (SUV) model ‘Macan,’ and continued supplying for the third generation of the super premium SUV model ‘Cayenne’ in 2019.
The Porsche Taycan is equipped with a high-capacity 93.4 kWh battery and a high-performance dual motor, delivering a powerful output of 761 horsepower and a maximum torque of 107.1 kg.m, accelerating from zero to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds.

Meanwhile, Hankook Tire was recently selected as the exclusive partner to supply electric vehicle tires starting from the 2022/23 season, when the third generation (Gen3) race cars are introduced in the ‘ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.’
