On that day, Governor Kim attended the ‘2020 Democratic Party of Korea Busan·Ulsan·Gyeongnam Budget Policy Council’ held at the party leader’s conference room in the National Assembly main building, where he mentioned three important tasks: balanced development New Deal, active industrial policy, and social grand compromise for institutional reforms.
In his opening remarks, Governor Kim emphasized the urgent need for measures to create innovative city clusters tailored to regional characteristics, such as spatial innovation that can link regions into ‘one living zone,’ a regional talent development support system, and additional relocation of public institutions, in order to disperse money and people concentrated in the metropolitan area through the ‘balanced development New Deal.’
Additionally, in a closed meeting, Governor Kim reiterated the necessity of the regional wide-area basic railway network project and the importance of the Busan·Ulsan·Gyeongnam Southeast Mega City construction project to establish a Northeast Asia smart logistics platform. He also focused on proposing 10 major pending projects including the introduction of the electric train from Bujeon to Masan, and 28 projects requiring increased national funding for the next year.
He further actively requested interest and support for projects requiring increased national funding next year, including ▲the creation of a smart factory digital cluster for the aviation industry, ▲the establishment of a support center to accelerate digital transformation in manufacturing sites, and ▲the development and demonstration of an ICT convergence manufacturing operating system.
