Gwangju Dong-gu Signs Business Agreement with Urban Railway Corporation for Mudeungsan Theme Train Development
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Im Taek) announced on the 3rd that it has signed a business agreement with Gwangju Urban Railway Corporation to create the Mudeungsan Theme Train.
This agreement was promoted to provide a healing space in the city by creating a natural space within public transportation frequently used by citizens who are exhausted from COVID-19, and to promote Gwangju's representative festival, the 'Memories of Chungjang Festival.'
The Mudeungsan Theme Train is designed by wrapping the interior of one car of Subway Line 1 with images of Gwangju's famous mountain Mudeungsan and the 'Memories of Chungjang Festival,' and it is expected to operate for up to five years.
Under this agreement, Dong-gu will bear the costs for the creation and maintenance of the theme train, while the Urban Railway Corporation will be responsible for the operation and activation of the theme train.
The Mudeungsan Theme Train is scheduled to finalize detailed designs this month and to begin operation with a test ride ceremony in early August.
