Gyeongnam Reports 2 COVID-19 Cases... Mexican Entrants
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Sharon] Two new confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Gyeongnam.
The province announced on the 3rd that two men, A (36) and B (35), residing in Gimhae City, tested positive.
They are coworkers; Mr. A stayed in Mexico for work from May 10, and Mr. B from February 12, both returning to Korea on the 2nd.
Both were asymptomatic and did not undergo testing during quarantine. They arrived at Busan Station via a train dedicated to overseas arrivals and were tested at the Busan Station screening clinic.
Since home self-quarantine was not feasible, they were isolated at a temporary living facility in Busan City, where they awaited test results and were confirmed positive.
They have been transferred to Masan Medical Center for hospitalization and treatment.
The province's initial epidemiological investigation found no separate movement paths or contacts after their arrival.
A detailed epidemiological investigation will be conducted to check for any suspicious COVID-19 infection-related information.
