All Medical Staff and Patients at Chosun University Hospital with COVID-19 Patient Test Negative
Reopening and Normal Operation of Ward 52
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] It has been confirmed that Gwangju COVID-19 patient number 73 was hospitalized and isolated, and all medical staff and patients at Chosun University Hospital who were tested for COVID-19 received negative results.
According to Chosun University Hospital (Director Jeong Jonghun) on the 2nd, patient number 73 from Gwangju, who was admitted to Ward 52 on the 30th for surgery, was identified as a contact of patient number 46 from Gwangju, leading to the temporary closure of the ward.
Along with this, through CCTV analysis, COVID-19 tests were conducted on all medical staff, patients, and guardians who had accessed Ward 52 where the patient was admitted, and emergency disinfection was carried out in the rooms and surrounding facilities.
All 45 medical staff tested for COVID-19 were confirmed negative, and on the same day, all 77 patients and guardians also received negative results.
Accordingly, following the epidemiological investigation by the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency and Gwangju Metropolitan City, the closure was lifted and the ward resumed normal operations.
