Boseong-gun Invests 50 Billion KRW in Public Project for 'Rural Future Strategy Development'
Focused Investment in Rural Development and Improvement of Living Services by 2025
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Yong-chul] Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do, has been selected as the only region in Jeollanam-do for the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs' '2020 Rural Agreement Pilot Project.'
According to Boseong-gun on the 2nd, the county will invest a total of 50 billion KRW, including up to 30 billion KRW in national funds and 20 billion KRW in local funds according to the support ratio of each project, by 2025 to improve rural development and living services.
The 'Rural Agreement' aims to establish policy governance through an agreement between the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and local government heads, and to realize a '365 living zone' by focusing investments according to the development directions established by the region, thereby improving accessibility to basic living services such as childcare, education, health, and welfare in rural areas.
As a result, Boseong-gun will be able to promote rural development projects as a package, including not only rural development but also basic living services such as childcare, education, and welfare.
The county plans to systematically promote efforts to improve people-centered living bases, revitalize the rural economy, and activate local communities based on analysis of local classes, living zones, and accessibility to basic living services.
In addition, to revitalize living culture communities and improve rural childcare (education) conditions, the county plans to increase project synergy by linking projects from other ministries, and aims to create an environment where various services such as childcare, education, health, and welfare are fulfilled within the region to prevent population outflow and promote economic revitalization.
From July this year to April next year, the county will collect residents' opinions to establish a rural spatial strategic plan and rural revitalization plan, and will sign an agreement with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs in May of the same year.
County Governor Kim Cheol-woo said, "Since this project has been carefully prepared since the beginning of my term, I will devote myself to making it a core project leading the future of Boseong rural areas," and added, "We will maximize policy effects through organic linkage between projects and strive to revitalize the rural economy and promote regional development."
