Sangji Kyleum Subsidiary Ace Biomed Starts Mask Business with '13 Mile'
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Sangji Kyleum announced on the 2nd that its subsidiary Ace Biomed has signed a mask supply contract with 13 Mile for 25 million masks per month (300 million masks annually).
Ace Biomed has been conducting close meetings with 13 Mile to discuss overseas production and U.S. export of celebrity masks. Once the ongoing prototype testing is completed, a large-scale production contract will be signed immediately. The company is fully committed to the prototype testing phase with the determination to supply products on a large scale.
This contract originated and developed from overseas export supply meetings, and Ace Biomed and 13 Mile have decided to collaborate on domestically produced mask products as well, officially launching their mask business. They aim to set the standard for Korean masks through full-line production and sales of mask product groups.
Recently, Ace Biomed acquired the mask manufacturer HD Medis, enabling production of KF-80, KF-94, and KF-AD certified masks, as well as antiviral masks classified as industrial products. Based on this technology, Ace Biomed will be responsible for producing various mask product lines, while 13 Mile will leverage its existing know-how and network to handle domestic and international marketing and sales. The two companies aim to sell 25 million masks monthly, expecting a total annual sales volume of 300 million masks.
A Sangji Kyleum official stated, "The masks planned for production and sales by the two companies use MB filters and have a filtration efficiency exceeding KF-AD (droplet blocking masks)," adding, "We will establish a foothold in the mask market by utilizing 13 Mile’s marketing capabilities."
