Suncheon-si Namje-dong Opens Fitness Room and More Free for People with Developmental Disabilities
Agreement on Mutual Cooperation with Naduri Developmental Disability Day Activity Center
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] On the 1st, Namje-dong Administrative Welfare Center in Suncheon-si, Jeollanam-do announced that it signed an MOU with Nadri Developmental Disability Day Activity Center to promote the health and improve the independence of people with developmental disabilities.
Attending the signing ceremony were Kim Young-ho, head of Namje-dong, Ryu In-sang, chairman of the Namje-dong Residents' Autonomy Committee, and Kim Dong-ui, director of Nadri Developmental Disability Day Activity Center.
According to the agreement, the multipurpose room on the 2nd floor of Namje-dong Administrative Welfare Center and the fitness room operated and managed by the Residents' Autonomy Committee will be opened free of charge to people with developmental disabilities, allowing them to use facilities such as fitness and table tennis together with one assistant.
Kim Young-ho, head of Namje-dong, said, "Through this agreement, I hope to improve the health and physical strength of disabled people who have been excluded from exercise and to enhance social intimacy. We will continue to actively cooperate in the social activities of people with developmental disabilities in the district."
Ryu In-sang, chairman of the Namje-dong Residents' Autonomy Committee, said, "I am glad to provide a place where people with developmental disabilities in the district can exercise without restrictions," and added, "The Residents' Autonomy Committee will continue to take the lead in creating a Namje-dong where we live together."
