Meanwhile, Hong Eui-rak, originally from Bonghwa, Gyeongbuk, graduated from Daegu Gyesong High School and Korea University with a degree in Agricultural Economics. After working as a businessman, he served as a member of the 19th National Assembly (Democratic United Party proportional representative) and the 20th National Assembly (Independent → Democratic Party of Korea). Recently, he accepted the offer from Mayor Kwon Young-jin, who belongs to a different political party, to become Deputy Mayor for Economic Affairs, raising high expectations for his future role as a bridge between the ruling party and local government.
