Jeonbuk National University LINC+ Project Group Leads Jeonju Old Downtown Area Safety Innovation Project
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Tae-in] On the 30th, the Jeonbuk National University LINC+ Project Group (Director Ko Young-ho) conducted an electrical equipment safety inspection and maintenance project at residential facilities for vulnerable groups in the old downtown area of Jungang-dong, Wansan-gu, Jeonju, as part of the ‘Regional Safety Innovation Project.’
The old downtown ‘Regional Safety Innovation Project’ aims to improve the safety of essential living facilities for vulnerable households such as elderly people living alone. It was carried out as a volunteer activity to repair outdated electrical equipment in about 20 households in the district and install energy-saving lighting fixtures.
The event involved talent donations from employees of Nara Electric Management Corporation and JBE&G within the project group, along with participation from the Jungang-dong Development Council and student supporters.
Student supporter Seo Dong-bae said, “I felt rewarded to participate in this residential facility improvement work, and I think it is attractive that the university and experts join forces to support the local community.” He added, “Through this activity, I will look for other ways to contribute to the community and strive to work hard as a student supporter.”
