Russia Reports Over 6,000 New COVID-19 Cases for 5 Consecutive Days... Total Reaches 647,800
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Min-young] Russia's daily new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) have remained in the 6,000 range for five consecutive days. As a result, the cumulative number of confirmed cases has exceeded 640,000, maintaining the third largest scale in the world.
According to the Russian COVID-19 Import and Spread Prevention Headquarters on the 30th (local time), 6,693 additional confirmed cases were reported nationwide, including the capital Moscow, across 84 regions in the past day, bringing the cumulative confirmed cases to 647,849.
The number of new confirmed cases is gradually decreasing. The daily new confirmed cases, which had been in the 8,000 range for 15 consecutive days until the 16th, stayed in the 7,000 range from the 17th and dropped to the 6,000 range on the 26th.
On this day, 745 new confirmed cases were reported in the capital Moscow, bringing the cumulative confirmed cases to 221,598.
The nationwide COVID-19 death toll increased by 154 in one day, reaching 9,320.
