Homeplus The Club Offers Up to 40% Discount on 200 Food and Daily Necessities Items
1st Anniversary Celebration of Launch
[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] Homeplus announced on the 30th that it will hold a large-scale discount event for a month from July 1 to 31 to celebrate the first anniversary of the launch of its warehouse-style special store online mall, ‘The Club.’
Launched on July 25 last year, Homeplus The Club is an online warehouse-style mart that combines the cost-effectiveness of warehouse discount stores with the competitiveness of fresh food in large supermarkets. It gathers products from various channels to conveniently serve single-person households and self-employed customers who prefer bulk products. Unlike existing warehouse discount stores, it does not charge an annual membership fee.
The growth has been steep. With more than 80,000 new sign-ups every month, it recorded approximately 950,000 cumulative app downloads over 11 months since launch, and sales in June increased by 344% compared to the same month last year.
Accordingly, Homeplus The Club will offer up to 40% discounts on 200 popular products throughout July and hold various events. From July 2 to 8, it will offer up to 40% off Korean beef, 20% off when purchasing two eco-friendly vegetables, buy one get one free frozen shrimp, and discounted daily necessities such as two types of Maxim (330T). Through date-specific promotions, milk, ramen, and bulk meat products will be discounted when purchasing over a certain amount. Additionally, popular products such as nectarines, 60 large eggs, and Hetbahn will be discounted daily for My Homeplus members.
Customer participation events are also prepared. First, a ‘Share’ event will provide a 500 won credit coupon to all customers who share The Club’s first anniversary event page. If a friend who received the link downloads The Club app, the sharing customer will receive an additional 2,000 won, and the friend who received the share will get a 1,000 won credit coupon. A ‘Birthday Cake’ event offering up to 90% discount coupons will also be held. Customers can participate up to three times a day on The Club’s first anniversary event page, and each participation randomly awards a 20?90% shopping cart coupon and a 30?50 won credit coupon without fail. The first 100 customers who access The Club daily will receive a shopping cart coupon and a card-exclusive 10% discount coupon that can be used in conjunction. Card company promotions vary by date.
