Gwangju Bank Donates Development Fund to Honam University for Establishing 'AI Specialized University'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Honam University (President Park Sangcheol) and Gwangju Bank (President Song Jongwook) have signed an agreement to contribute to the university development fund to establish an 'AI Specialized University' leading the 4th Industrial Revolution era.
According to Honam University on the 29th, Park Sangcheol, President of Honam University, and Song Jongwook, President of Gwangju Bank, held a signing ceremony for the university development fund contribution agreement on the same day.
According to the agreement, Gwangju Bank will contribute 50 million KRW annually for three years, totaling 150 million KRW to Honam University starting this year.
President Song Jongwook said, "We decided to contribute to the development fund with the hope that Honam University will establish itself as the only AI specialized university in Korea playing a pivotal role in leading AI convergence education."

President Park Sangcheol of Honam University expressed gratitude, saying, "We appreciate the donation to Honam University's development fund despite the challenging management conditions due to COVID-19," and added, "We will utilize it for research and scholarship funds to build an AI specialized university and contribute to regional development."
