Court Fines 60-Year-Old 1 Million Won for Subletting Public Rental Housing Again
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] A man in his 60s was fined for subletting a public rental housing contracted under his own name to another person.
Judge Lee Eun-jung of the Daegu District Court Criminal Division 5 sentenced A (61) to a fine of 1 million won on the 29th for violating the Special Act on Public Housing.
A was charged with subletting a public construction rental housing in Buk-gu, Daegu, for which he held the lease rights from 2017 to 2019, allowing B to live there from 2018 to 2019.
A claimed that since he lived in the apartment and allowed B to use the spare room free of charge, it was not subletting, but the court did not accept this argument.
