Martial Arts - Central Asia 5 Countries' Council Establishes 'Korea-China Asia Economic Consultative Body'
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] The Korea International Trade Association (KITA), in collaboration with the Embassy of Belarus in Korea, held a 'Belarus Market Entry Business Meeting' on the 30th at COEX in Samseong-dong.
At the meeting, KITA Vice Chairman Han Jin-hyun, Andrei Popkov, Ambassador of Belarus to Korea, and Jeon Eung-gil, Director from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, attended to share the achievements of economic cooperation between the two countries and to review the difficulties faced by Korean companies operating locally, such as DongSung Pharmaceutical and Hyundai Motor Company.
Ambassador Andrei Popkov stated, "Innovative Korean companies like SK Hynix and IK Semiconductor are already leading advanced technology development in cooperation with Belarusian talents," adding, "We will continue to provide support to discover more excellent cooperation cases."
Shin Dong-eon, CEO of Geumcheong Pharmaceutical, said, "We have opened an office locally and are in the process of registering pharmaceuticals to participate in public procurement projects, but it is difficult to participate in bids due to qualification restrictions," and requested, "Please relax the qualification conditions to promote active entry and cooperation of Korean pharmaceutical companies."

KITA Vice Chairman Han Jin-hyun emphasized, "Belarus shares borders with Russia, Poland, and Ukraine, and possesses world-class competitiveness and excellent human resources in the information and communication technology (ICT) sector, offering great potential for cooperation," adding, "In particular, the medical device market is growing at an average annual rate of 5%, and the government is also fostering the pharmaceutical industry, making it a market to watch in the post-COVID-19 era."
