Earlier, Speaker Park Byeong-seok of the National Assembly demanded the submission of the standing committee list by 6 p.m., stating that a plenary session would be held at 7 p.m. However, as the United Future Party refused, the plenary session time was moved up to 2 p.m.
Choi Hyung-doo, the United Future Party floor spokesperson, said to reporters at the National Assembly on the same day, "As opposition party lawmakers, we will make an accurate allocation based on facts, logic, and alternatives to properly fulfill the role of opposition members in the standing committees."
He explained, "We will submit the list of standing committee members, but since the Democratic Party of Korea is forcing the National Assembly to proceed recklessly, it will take some time to do it accurately based on precise facts, professional knowledge, and policy experience."
When the United Future Party expressed its position not to submit the list by the designated time, the Democratic Party announced that the plenary session would be held at 2 p.m. that day. Floor spokesperson Choi said, "As opposition lawmakers, to demand even the schedule for what we have to do according to their timetable is excessive," adding, "If this had been proceeded through agreement from the start, such a situation would not have occurred."
He added, "Previously, some three-term lawmakers declared, 'It is time to become standing committee chairs, but if the Judiciary Committee is forcibly taken away, I will remain an unfortunate three-term lawmaker who has never chaired a standing committee in history,'" and "In such a situation, the floor leader gathered opinions from all lawmakers."

The opposition party also brought up Rep. Yoon Mi-hyang and a national audit on inter-Korean diplomacy as negotiation cards for the formation of the National Assembly. Regarding this, floor spokesperson Choi said, "There was some discussion about the national audit at the meeting, but since the Judiciary Committee is not possible for now, what can we do?" and emphasized, "The national audit on inter-Korean diplomacy will be pursued by the opposition party considering public anxiety and risks."
