Insilicogen Signs Business Agreement with Dell and Intel for Big Data Bioinformatics Analysis Infrastructure Project
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Insilicogen announced on the 29th that it has signed a business agreement with Dell Technologies and Intel Korea to promote the commercialization of big data bioinformatics analysis infrastructure for precision medicine.
Insilicogen plans to develop an appliance product for genome analysis based on Intel's Select Platform solution and conduct business targeting customers engaged in bioinformatics and genome research. Insilicogen's solution applies its analysis software and the genome variant analysis tool GATK provided by the Broad Institute on a standardized Intel Select Platform based on Dell Technologies' infrastructure solution, enabling optimal analysis performance to be delivered to customers.
Intel jointly develops and provides the Intel Select solution optimized for genome analysis workloads with the Broad Institute. Dell Technologies, which has closely collaborated with Insilicogen in the field of bioinformatics consulting and optimization, provides servers and storage systems optimized for genome analysis and infrastructure configuration as a supply partner of Intel-based systems. Through this, Insilicogen is expected to build the optimal bioinformatics analysis environment more easily and quickly and solve difficult problems through close cooperation with biomedical business partners.
Namwoo Choi, CEO of Insilicogen, stated, “We have jointly developed an appliance based on Intel® Select Solution for genome analysis with Dell Technologies in the bioinformatics business area, introduced a platform-based system from Dell Technologies, and signed a business cooperation and partnership agreement with Intel and Dell Technologies to supply infrastructure for enhanced data analysis to customers through consulting on our software and the variant analysis tool GATK, thereby improving customers' genome analysis.”
Myeongsook Kwon, President of Intel Korea, said, “Through this agreement, we will collaborate to create an optimal bioinformatics analysis environment on Intel CPU-equipped Select server systems by providing platforms and technical support for the 'Select Solution for Genome Analysis.' We expect that the close cooperation of the three companies will increase the efficiency of genetic analysis in Korea and contribute to the advancement of bioinformatics analysis infrastructure business based on domestic genome research.”
