The Content Promotion Agency Hosts Game Culture Creative Content Contest
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] A contest that allows reflection on the social and cultural value of games and healthy game usage is being held. It is the "Game Culture Creative Content Contest," hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by the Korea Creative Content Agency.
On the 29th, the Content Agency announced that under the subtitle "Games That Blossomed My Life," it will accept stories about people who use games as a part of everyday leisure culture from July 13 to September 14. Participation is possible individually or in teams (up to 6 members), and anyone can apply.
The contest themes are divided into three categories: ▲ Blooming Relationships ▲ Blooming Culture ▲ Blooming Life. Participants can freely submit videos, essays, webtoons, etc., on topics such as experiences communicating with others through games, ideas or proposals for creating a healthy game culture, and cases where attitudes toward life have positively changed.
Judging will be based on theme relevance, creativity, message delivery, and completeness, with results announced at the end of October. Awards include one grand prize (Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award) across video, essay, and webtoon categories, as well as excellence and merit awards (Korea Creative Content Agency President Award), and encouragement awards (Korea Game Industry Association President Award), selecting a total of 43 works. Selected outstanding works will be repurposed as promotional content for future game culture policies.
Kim Young-jun, President of the Content Agency, said, "I hope this contest will serve as an opportunity to re-examine how games enrich our daily lives and their value."
