The website established for online applications will also be available only until the 7th of next month.
Busan City announced on the 29th that it will terminate the operation of the dedicated call center and online application website, and will provide related information through the city's Welfare Policy Division and Busan City Call Center. Applications for the government emergency disaster relief fund will be accepted at the Eup/Myeon/Dong community service centers.
The current payment rate of the government emergency disaster relief fund in the Busan area is 96.5%, with approximately 1.45 million households out of 1.503 million households having completed their applications. Due to the high application rate so far, the dedicated call center currently receives fewer than 50 calls per day on average, and the online application website also receives fewer than 70 applications per day on average, resulting in a sharp decline in usage.
Accordingly, the government emergency disaster relief fund dedicated call center will operate until the 30th, and the Busan City dedicated online application website will operate only until the 7th of next month.
To minimize inconvenience to citizens related to the government emergency disaster relief fund support, Busan City operated the 'Government Emergency Disaster Relief Fund Dedicated Call Center' for about two months from May 11 to the end of June, providing prompt and accurate consultation services regarding the application and usage of the relief fund.
Approximately 17,000 consultation cases have been received so far, with an average of 515 inquiries handled per day. The main inquiries were about application methods (26.4%), followed by payment methods and amounts (21.2%), timing of fund charging (14.8%), and eligibility and household composition (14.7%).
Additionally, to facilitate Busan citizens' applications for prepaid cards and Dongbaekjeon related to the government emergency disaster relief fund, the city independently established and operated an online application website starting from May 18.
As of now, about 84,000 online applications have been received, with 52,000 applications for prepaid cards and 32,000 for Dongbaekjeon. By period, approximately 82,000 applications were received in May, while only about 2,000 were received in June, currently averaging fewer than 70 applications per day.
After the website operation ends, applications for the government emergency disaster relief fund must be made by visiting the Eup/Myeon/Dong community service centers of the applicant's address. Only prepaid card applications can be made in person; Dongbaekjeon applications will not be accepted.
