'Tourism Hub City' Andong-si Operates Nostalgic Streetcar 'Trolleybus'
Priority Introduction of Two Buses on Hahoe Village~Wolyeonggyo City Bus Route
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Andong City, Gyeongsangbuk-do, which was selected as a 'Tourism Hub City' last January, announced on the 28th that it will introduce and operate a trolleybus reproducing the 1900s streetcar by December.
The trolleybus, which has become a landmark in famous cities around the world such as the United States and Europe and is popular among tourists, will be deployed on city bus routes running through the World Cultural Heritage site Hahoe Village and the night view attraction Wolyeonggyo Bridge, providing convenience of movement and nostalgic sights for citizens and tourists.
In addition, to enhance the status of the tourism hub city and the convenience of citizens, city bus stops will be newly renovated. First, the bus stop in front of Ungbu Park will be refurbished with all convenience facilities such as air conditioning, air purifiers, and heated seats, allowing anyone to wait for the bus comfortably.
