Online video streaming service Watcha Play released an interview with Sharon Choi and Sandra Oh on its official YouTube channel on the 25th. This interview was arranged to commemorate the exclusive release of the Watcha exclusive series 'Killing Eve' Season 3.
Sharon Choi said, "I accepted the interview offer immediately. The reason I subscribed to Watcha Play was to watch 'Killing Eve,'" revealing that she is a big fan of 'Killing Eve' and Sandra Oh.
In response, Sandra Oh expressed her emotion, saying, "I am so happy that Korean audiences can watch 'Killing Eve.' It’s wonderful."
Sharon Choi said, "It seems that Korean audiences also have a craving for stories about women," adding, "'Killing Eve,' which depicts various stories about unique women, is why it is receiving such great response."
Sandra Oh explained, "'Killing Eve' is a story that explores the psychology of women. In the past, female characters were always defined or explored within family roles such as mothers or daughters," and added, "'Killing Eve' features various women in their 20s, 40s, and 60s."
She continued, "It is a beautiful portrait of them when they have power and when they do not. It is a story about how they cope with loss and how they turn away from it," adding, "You can see this through different generations."
Sharon Choi mentioned that the Korean town 'New Malden' in the UK appears in Season 3 and said, "Korean fans will be excited by Shin Ramyeon, Eve making dumplings, and the Korean language heard occasionally," and asked, "Season 3 starts very quietly, but is there a special meaning behind choosing the Korean town as a space where Eve heals from physical and mental wounds?"
In response, Sandra Oh said, "I’m so glad you asked about a point that others missed," and explained that the Korean town should be seen as a place where Eve is not living a pathetic life but a place based on calmness and anonymity, where she can control herself.
'Killing Eve' is a British drama depicting a comic obsessive chase between Eve, an intelligence agency employee who wants to become a spy, and Villanelle (Jodie Comer), a psychopathic killer, who become fascinated with each other.
