View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] Asung Daiso delivered about 500 Happiness Boxes and air-purifying plants to the Veterans Affairs Agency and Veterans Welfare Town under the Korea Veterans Welfare Corporation on the 25th to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the June 25 War and the Month of Patriots and Veterans in June.
The Veterans Affairs Agency and Veterans Welfare Town are welfare facilities under the Korea Veterans Welfare Medical Corporation established for the care, nursing, and self-reliance education of veterans who contributed to the nation and people, as well as their families.
The Happiness Boxes delivered to veteran families were composed of health products such as heating pads and acupressure mats, as well as hygiene products including wet tissues, toothbrushes, and body wash. The Happiness Box is Asung Daiso’s representative social contribution project that delivers daily necessities to veteran families or low-income households, with the contents varying depending on the recipients. A total of about 3,000 Happiness Boxes have been delivered as of June this year.
Park Jung-bu, chairman of Asung Daiso, also delivered air-purifying plants along with the Happiness Boxes to the Veterans Affairs Agency and Veterans Welfare Town as part of participating in the “Flower Bucket Challenge.” Chairman Park was nominated by Han Jin-hyun, vice chairman of the Korea International Trade Association, and recommended Park Hye-rin, president of BioSmart, as the next participant.

An Asung Daiso official said, “On the meaningful occasion of the 70th anniversary of the June 25 War and the Month of Patriots and Veterans, we delivered Happiness Boxes and air-purifying plants to veterans and their families who devoted themselves to the country,” adding, “We hope this will be of some help to veteran families and flower farmers struggling due to the spread of COVID-19.”
