Jindo-gun, Sacheon-ri Water Playground Closed
Concerns Over COVID-19 Resurgence... Closure Decided for Residents' Safety
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hyun] Jindo-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 25th that it will close the Sacheon-ri water playground to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The water playground, established in 2017 in Sacheon-ri, Uisin-myeon, covers an area of 680㎡ and consists of two outdoor pools for toddlers and elementary school students with a depth of less than 0.5m, as well as convenience facilities such as showers and rest decks. More than 30,000 people have visited within three years of its opening.
The water playground is free to use and is a representative summer relaxation space in Jindo-gun, where visitors can also enjoy the nearby Unlim Sambyeolcho Park's auto camping site, barrier-free forest trails, tree houses, and loess trails.
Considering the recent nationwide resurgence of COVID-19 infections, the county decided to close the water playground due to its nature, where prolonged close contact among many people is inevitable.
