Yoo Jae-gu, Iksan City Council Member, Virtually Confirmed as Second Half Chairman
Official Election at the 277th Extraordinary Session Plenary Meeting on the 2nd of Next Month
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hong Jae-hee] Yoo Jae-gu, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, has been virtually confirmed as the chairman of the 8th Jeonbuk Iksan City Council for the second half term.
On the 23rd, 10 city council members belonging to the Democratic Party of Korea's Iksan-eul regional committee selected Councilor Yoo as the chairman candidate through an internal primary. Accordingly, Councilor Yoo will run as the sole candidate.
The selection of the chairman candidate was conducted under the principle of non-disclosure of the number of votes, with a contest between three-term Councilor Kim Yeon-sik and two-term Councilor Yoo. The elected Councilor Yoo is scheduled to be officially elected through a vote at the 277th Iksan City Council extraordinary session plenary meeting to be held on July 2.

Councilor Yoo has been actively engaged in legislative activities, having proposed ordinances such as the "Iksan City Environmental Basic Facilities and Surrounding Area Support Ordinance," the "Partial Amendment to the Iksan City University Student Administrative Experience Training Operation Ordinance," and the "Iksan City Fine Dust Reduction and Support Ordinance."
