Wu Qian, spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of National Defense, said at the monthly briefing on the 24th, "This incident was entirely due to India violating the mutual understanding between the two countries and unilaterally provoking," adding, "The bloody clash occurred on the Chinese side of the Line of Actual Control (LAC) recognized by both sides."
Spokesperson Wu claimed, "China has sovereignty over the Galwan Valley, and Chinese border troops have long patrolled the area," and "Since April, Indian border troops have unilaterally constructed facilities in this area, and China has repeatedly negotiated and protested."
He continued, "In the early morning of the 6th of last month, Indian border troops crossed the control line, installed obstacles on Chinese territory, and blocked the normal patrols of Chinese border troops," stating, "They attempted to unilaterally change the border control situation."
