Another Cluster Infection... 5 Confirmed Cases Related to Car Enthusiast Club (Update)
[Asia Economy Reporter Cho Hyun-ui] The spread of cluster infections of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the Seoul metropolitan area and Daejeon region shows no signs of slowing down. After existing door-to-door sales companies and nursing facilities, infections have also occurred in club gatherings.
Jung Eun-kyung, head of the Central Disease Control Headquarters, stated at a regular briefing held on the 24th at the Osong Disease Control Headquarters in Chungbuk, "Five new cases were confirmed in relation to a car club meeting held near the Han River in Yeouido, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul on the 15th."
At that meeting, 4 out of 10 attendees were confirmed positive, and one contact was infected. Head Jung said, "Investigations into the infection route and testing of contacts are ongoing."
Additional confirmed cases have also occurred at existing cluster infection sites such as the elderly health product multi-level marketing company 'Richway.' As of 12 PM that day, 3 more contacts related to Richway were confirmed positive, bringing the total number of infections to 205. There are 41 visitors and 164 contacts.
At the Seongsim Daycare Center in Dobong-gu, 2 more people tested positive, increasing the cumulative confirmed cases to 47. One more confirmed case was added related to the door-to-door sales company in Goejeong-dong, Seo-gu, Daejeon, bringing the total confirmed cases to 58 so far.
