"Lotte Department Store Opens 'Wine Stage' for Live Wine Broadcasts"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] Lotte Department Store unveiled the 'Wine Stage,' a store capable of live streaming wine content in real time, on the 24th.
According to Lotte Department Store, due to the recent COVID-19 pandemic, solo drinking and home drinking have become trends, resulting in a 35% increase in wine sales in May compared to the same period last year. The revision of the Liquor Tax Act allowing online sales of alcoholic beverages is also analyzed as one of the reasons for the sales increase. Under the amended Liquor Tax Act, customers can purchase liquor online and pick it up directly at the store, minimizing contact with sales staff during the purchase process.
The 'Wine Stage' store is located in the Jamsil branch and is classified as a convertible shop (a store with a transformable format) because it allows real-time communication with customers through live broadcasts and marketing through broadcast content.
