Woongjin Foods Promises to Purchase 200 Tons of Hulless Barley and 80 Tons of Honey Annually
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Gyeongsangbuk-do signed a business agreement with Woongjin Foods on the 23rd in the provincial government conference room to expand the use of Gyeongbuk agricultural products.
Attending the agreement ceremony were Governor Lee Cheol-woo, CEO Lee Ji-ho of Woongjin Foods Co., Ltd., Deputy Governor Park Dong-yeop of Yeongdeok, Shim Jae-il, Chairman of the Gyeongsangbuk-do Agricultural Food Distribution Innovation Committee, and Seo Seok-jo, Chairman of Yeongdeok Yeonghae Nonghyup Cooperative.
Gyeongbuk Province aims to increase farmers' income by securing stable sales channels for local agricultural products, while Woongjin Foods expects to gain consumer trust in food safety and strengthen product competitiveness by using excellent agricultural products from Gyeongbuk. In this agreement, Woongjin Foods pledged to actively cooperate in using agricultural products produced in Gyeongbuk and developing win-win menus utilizing local specialties.
Woongjin Foods, a specialized agri-food beverage company, has won the Brand Award for eight consecutive years for its barley beverage "Haneulbori," and its world-first rice beverage "Achim Haetsal" is recognized as a next-generation world-class product. Woongjin Foods, which produces flagship products such as Haneulbori and Achim Haetsal using 100% domestically grown agricultural products, plans to purchase and commercialize various Gyeongbuk agricultural products, including 200 tons of barley and 80 tons of honey annually through this agreement.
