Jeon Chun-seong, Jinan County Governor, Visits Ministry of Economy and Finance for All-Out Effort to Secure Current Budget

On the day, Mayor Jeon met with Ando Geol, the Budget Director of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, and explained the necessity of passing the preliminary feasibility study for local pending projects such as the ‘Jinan County Unsanitary Landfill Waste Management Project’ and the ‘Jinan Old Sewage Pipeline Maintenance Project.’
The Jinan County Unsanitary Landfill Waste Management Project has recently caused conflicts with residents of villages around the landfill due to the issue of untreated waste disposal identified through an environmental impact assessment, making it urgent to resolve the issue through securing national funds.
In particular, the Jinan Public Sewage Treatment Plant near Yongdam Lake is experiencing excessive inflow of unclear water due to aging pipelines, necessitating the securing of national funds for large-scale sewage pipeline maintenance to suppress algal blooms and preserve water quality.
Projects such as the Wanju Soyang~Jinan Bugwi Road Facility Improvement Construction have long been a wish of Jinan County, and the county actively requested that these local pending project budgets be necessarily reflected in the government’s budget proposal by ensuring they pass the Ministry of Economy and Finance’s comprehensive preliminary feasibility evaluation.
