The #ThanksTo Challenge is a participatory relay campaign initiated by the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters to support COVID-19 medical personnel and quarantine workers.
Participants film the sign language gesture for respect (placing the right fist on the left palm and raising the thumb) and post it on social media with hashtags such as ‘#ThanksTo Challenge’ and ‘#ThanksToMedicalStaff’. The campaign continues by having each participant nominate three others to join.
President Jeong joined the campaign upon the nomination of SK Hynix President Lee Seok-hee. Along with 15 LG Innotek employees, President Jeong represented the company in expressing gratitude to the medical staff.
President Jeong said, “Despite the prolonged COVID-19 crisis, it is thanks to the sacrifice and hard work of the medical staff that we are all overcoming COVID-19 wisely. Through participating in this campaign, we convey our deep gratitude and support to these individuals.”
President Jeong nominated Samsung Electro-Mechanics President Kyung Kye-hyun, Toray Advanced Materials President Jeon Hae-sang, and partner company ORKEM President Lee Jae-hyun as the next participants.
Meanwhile, LG Innotek is promoting various activities to overcome the COVID-19 crisis. In March, LG Innotek donated a total of 600 million KRW worth of funds and quarantine supplies such as protective suits to the Community Chest of Korea to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and support recovery efforts.
