Gyeonggi Office of Education Changes Guidelines for Reflecting High School Entrance Exam Internal Grades
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education changed the guidelines for reflecting middle school grades for high school admissions in the province on the 23rd.
This guideline change is a measure to reduce the burden on middle school students, considering the reduced opportunities to participate in school educational activities such as in-school competitions due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
Middle school grades for high school admission are calculated out of a total of 200 points, including academic activity status, attendance status, volunteer activity records, and school activity records.
Among these, the method of calculating the school activity score, which reflects award achievements and student council officer activities with a total allocation of 10 points, will be changed.
First, the basic score for school activities will be raised from the original 7 points to 8 points. Also, the award achievements, which were reflected up to 6 awards at 0.5 points each per semester, will now be limited to 4 awards.
However, the method of calculating student council officer activity scores, which grants 0.1 points per month, remains the same as before.
The revised "Gyeonggi-do High School Admission Middle School Grade Reflection Guidelines" can be found on the Gyeonggi Office of Education website and the high school admission and transfer portal website.
