Suncheon-si Expands Delegation for Free Rotavirus Vaccination for Infants and Pneumococcal Vaccination for Elderly
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City Health Center announced that the free vaccinations for ‘infant rotavirus’ and ‘elderly pneumococcal’ can also be administered for free at medical institutions commissioned by the city.
The city health center expanded the commissioned medical institution project to allow free vaccinations at nearby medical institutions in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and increase vaccination rates. There are 14 commissioned medical institutions for infant rotavirus vaccination, including Nuga Clinic, and the number of institutions for elderly pneumococcal vaccination has expanded to 74.
The target for infant rotavirus vaccination is infants born to guardians who have resided in Jeollanam-do for more than one year (with a Suncheon address). Guardians must bring a copy of the family register or resident registration and visit the health center or one of the 14 commissioned medical institutions in the area in the morning to receive the free vaccination. However, for the third dose, it is necessary to call the health center in advance.
The pneumococcal vaccination is for elderly people aged 65 or older. They must bring an ID card and visit the health center or one of the 74 commissioned medical institutions to receive the vaccination.
