From the 24th, 'Youth Maritime Humanities' Relay Lectures Begin
The Humanities Korea Plus (HK+) Project Group at Pukyong National University will hold the "Youth Maritime Humanities Lecture" starting at Yongho Middle School on the 24th.

The Pukyong National University Humanities Korea Plus (HK+) Project Group announced on the 22nd that it will hold a "Youth Maritime Humanities Lecture" starting with Yongho Middle School on the 24th.
This lecture is a free program where humanities scholars, including researchers from the Pukyong National University HK+ Project Group, tell middle school students stories about the hidden history, culture, cities, and publishing in the Northeast Asian maritime region, under the theme "The Meeting of Northeast Asian Maritime Culture and Humanities."
The project group plans to start the lectures by visiting the History Exploration Club students at Yongho Middle School on the 24th and continue lectures at local middle schools such as Daecheon Middle School and Seokpo Girls' Middle School until September.
Through this lecture, humanities scholars will share vivid stories drawn from the Northeast Asian maritime region, including the historical background of the birth of the Japanese-style beef hot pot dish "Sukiyaki" (Professor Gong Mi-hee, HK Research Professor), Moon Sun-deuk, the first interpreter in the Philippines (Children's Author Lee Sang-mi), Busan's hillside neighborhoods and Zainichi Koreans (Professor Choi Min-kyung, HK Professor), and historical stories of the Busan area during the Joseon Dynasty (Dr. Kwon Young-joo).
Lectures on various topics will also be conducted, such as the scenery and dramas of the open port (Professor Seo Gwang-deok, HK Research Professor), the aesthetics of movies and books that came to me, "Life of Pi" (Children's Author Park Geu-ru), Japanese words remaining in our fishing villages (Professor Yang Min-ho, HK Research Professor), and traces of Busan's modernization (Cultural Tourism Guide Kwak Ae-sun).
