Changwon City Designates 11 Small Giant Companies as 'Driving Force for Future Economic Growth'
Selection of 200 Companies by 2025 ... Targeting Total Production Value of 10 Trillion Won

View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Choi Hyun-joo] Changwon City in Gyeongnam announced on the 22nd that it selected 11 promising small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to lead the Changwon economy as ‘2020 Changwon-type Strong Small Giants’ and awarded designation certificates at the Changwon Convention Center.
Since 2015, the city has been continuously discovering small but solid strong small giants with technological capabilities and promoting the ‘Changwon-type Strong Small Giants Development’ project to support the successful development of core technologies and linkage to commercialization, aiming for stable growth of local companies and job creation. Up to last year, 50 companies have been selected and nurtured.
As of the end of last year, Changwon-type Strong Small Giants achieved a sales growth rate about twice as high as the national average sales growth rate of small and medium manufacturing companies over three years. Among these companies, 5 companies including Rashban Korea Co., Ltd. were selected as Gyeongnam Star Companies in 2020, and Daeho INT Co., Ltd. was selected as a 2020 Global Strong Small Giant, laying the foundation for growth into a global company.
Selected companies receive up to 50 million KRW per company for one year, and customized support to strengthen corporate competitiveness is provided, including core technology development support, focused business management through dedicated manager matching, productivity management system diagnosis, and technology consulting.
