Over 35,000 Candidates Take the Firefighter Written Exam
[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] The National Fire Agency announced on the 20th that a provisional total of 35,032 candidates took the 2020 written examination for new firefighter recruitment held across 17 cities and provinces nationwide.
According to the National Fire Agency, 52,459 people applied for 4,830 available positions, and about 66.8% of them actually took the exam. There were no cases of candidates missing the exam due to infection with the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), and one person in self-quarantine took the exam in a separately prepared space through prior application.

Additionally, 19 candidates who showed suspicious symptoms such as fever and cough during the entry process took the exam in a separate space within the test center. In that space, proctors wearing full protective suits supervised the exam, and the candidates left the room only after all other examinees had exited the building.
