WHO "Global Daily New COVID-19 Cases Reach 150,000, Highest Single-Day Record"

Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO Director-General, stated during a virtual press briefing held at the WHO headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, "On the 18th alone, more than 150,000 COVID-19 cases were reported globally."
Director-General Ghebreyesus said, "About half of the infections were reported in the Americas region," adding, "Many cases were also reported in South Asia and the Middle East."
