A Man in His 50s Arrested for Assaulting Bus Driver Who Asked to Wear a Mask
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] A man in his 50s is under police investigation for assaulting a bus driver who demanded he wear a mask after boarding a bus without one.
Seoul Gwangjin Police Station announced on the 19th that they have detained and are investigating Mr. A on charges including assault.
On the afternoon of the 18th, Mr. A boarded a village bus in Gwangjin-gu without wearing a mask and is accused of throwing punches at the bus driver who requested him to wear one, as well as assaulting a passenger who tried to intervene.

A police official stated, "Given the increasing number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the metropolitan area, assaulting a bus driver who asked to wear a mask is considered a serious matter," adding, "We plan to request an arrest warrant."
