This training was conducted as part of the Boseong Office of Education’s special education activity project ‘Inheritance Education of the Spirit of the Three Bohyangs’ to apply tea ceremony education in the field and to enhance the professionalism of staff in tea ceremony education.
Based on applications from elementary and middle schools, about 200 staff members from 12 schools will participate in 12 sessions until the end of October, in cooperation with about 10 local tea gardens that have signed MOUs with the Boseong Office of Education.
The program was designed so that teachers can apply it together with students in the classroom, covering the history and scientific aspects of Boseong tea, six major types of tea worldwide, tea blending, and tea etiquette.
Park Eun-young, a teacher at Boknae Elementary School who participated in the training, said, “As Boseong is the capital of green tea, I was considering how to apply tea ceremony education, and through this training, I learned ways to teach special education activities to students more deeply.”
