USFK Air Force Soldier Transferred from the US Tests Positive for COVID-19
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] One U.S. Forces Korea (USFK) soldier who entered the country on a U.S. government chartered flight tested positive for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
The USFK announced on the 18th, "One soldier who arrived at Osan Air Base on the 15th of this month tested positive for COVID-19."
The soldier arrived at Osan Air Base on the 15th, was tested, and has been staying in a quarantine facility. The soldier who tested positive on this day was transferred to a COVID-19 patient facility within Osan Base.
The USFK quarantined all personnel who arrived on the same chartered flight as the confirmed case. The cumulative number of confirmed COVID-19 cases among USFK personnel is 35, including one additional confirmed case.

A USFK official stated, "We are maintaining a strong combined defense posture to protect the Republic of Korea from any threats," and added, "COVID-19 preventive measures are being thoroughly implemented."
