[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Jongno-gu (District Mayor Kim Young-jong) signed a 'Paper Carton Recycling Activation Project Agreement' with M's Seed, an affiliate of Maeil Dairies that operates the coffee specialty store Paul Bassett, at 11 a.m. on the 17th in the district mayor's office.
The signing ceremony was held with the attendance of Kim Young-jong, Mayor of Jongno-gu, and Kim Yong-chul, CEO of M's Seed, and proceeded in the order of ▲ explanation of the agreement contents ▲ signing of the agreement ▲ commemorative photo session.
This agreement aims to collect a large amount of paper cartons discharged from the coffee specialty store Paul Bassett, recycle them, secure high-quality recycled resources, and realize Jongno as a resource-circulating city.
Currently, there are four Paul Bassett stores in Jongno-gu, and the district plans to install dedicated paper carton collection bins inside the buildings housing Paul Bassett stores to facilitate separate collection and recycling processing.

Kim Young-jong, Mayor of Jongno-gu, stated, “Paper cartons are valuable resources made from high-quality natural pulp that depends on imports and must be separately disposed of. Coffee specialty stores consume a large amount of milk contained in paper cartons, resulting in a significant amount of paper carton discharge.” He added, “Starting with this business agreement, we will take the lead in collaborating with large-scale paper carton discharging businesses to increase the recycling rate and secure high-quality recycled resources.”
